Getting started- Firstly becoming a real estate agent is relative easy, once you complete your training, you’re a licensed agent. Although the course can take up a bit of your time, it is relatively easy.
You are your own boss- Which means that you can work independently and as long as you are committed you wouldn’t need to answer to anyone. But the downside to this is that you will have to learn to multitask, since you will have to manage daily office needs, your clients and market yourself.
You can earn a lot- Yes, real estate agents do earn a lot, but this is largely dependent on the sales and commissions they receive. Sometimes a good agent will make a lot in 6 months and nothing for the rest of the year. To ensure that you stay afloat, keep a reserve for difficult times.
Flexi time- Agents don’t have your usual 9-5 working hours. Which is great because it give you time to spend time with family and friends. But flexi time means you have to be flexible to your clients needs as well. This may mean working on weekends and early or late starts.
You are helping people make a big decision- Selling or buying a property is a big decision. therefore agents can receive a lot of satisfaction after closing a deal. But since the decision involves a lot of money, clients are usually stressed and sometime indecisive.
