If you’ve got unlimited amounts of money (and most people don’t), then it should be easy to make improvements to your properties in order to attract tenants or buyers.
For the rest of us, who have to be conscious about how we spend our money, here are 3 less expensive ways to make improvements to your properties:
#1: Paint Job
Even if the interior of the property in question doesn’t need a paint job, you can consider painting the trim with a semi-gloss bright white on all of your properties, if you have several. The reason for this is because most modern custom homes come with beige or off-white walls and bright white trim. Better still, you can make an excellent first impression by using crown molding for the entry way and the living room.
#2: New or Improved Doors
Another cheap replacement is the doors on your properties. One of the best things that you can do is replace them with nice white doors. With the hollow-core door about $20 and stylish six-panel doors about $30, it’s well priced since it comes pre-hung and pre-primed.
#3: Paint Kitchen Cabinets
With the replacement of kitchen cabinets being expensive, painting them is a better idea. Since the objective is to make an excellent first impression, use semi-gloss white and add plastic knobs that are colorful. There’s no need to paint the insides of the cabinets, of course. Another excellent addition would be to add modern faucets in the kitchen and which can be found for amounts as cheap as $60.
